On March 13, 2025, the DILG Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Office, together with the field officers from various municipalities in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, participated in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.
This activity was conducted to raise awareness about the dangers of earthquakes and the importance of being prepared. The drill aimed to remind everyone in the community that earthquakes can happen anytime, and knowing how to respond is crucial for safety.
During the drill, participants practiced vital earthquake response protocols, such as “Drop, Cover, and Hold On,” and evacuation procedures. These practices helped everyone understand how to react quickly and safely if an earthquake occurs. Regular drills like this build confidence, enabling individuals to stay calm and act efficiently during real emergencies, reducing panic and confusion in the process.
