In a significant step towards fostering healthier and more productive work environments across the nation, the Department of the Interior and Local Government- Zamboanga Sibugay participated in the recent Orientation on the National Policy Framework on the Promotion of Healthy Workplaces on April 28-30, 2025 at LM Metro Hotel, Zamboanga City. This initiative underscores the DILG’s commitment to the well-being of government employees and its crucial role in cascading this vital framework to local government units nationwide.

The National Policy Framework, a collaborative effort spearheaded by the Department of Health (DOH) and the Civil Service Commission (CSC), with support from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), aims to establish and strengthen healthy workplaces in support of the Universal Health Care Law. It provides a comprehensive roadmap for the implementation of health promotion policies, plans, and programs within various work settings.  

In attendance from the DILG is the Provincial Director of Zamboanga del Sur Moh. Taha S. Arakama, the Provincial Director of Zamboanga del Norte Oliver B. Ombos, and the Social Protection Programs Focal Person of Zamboanga Sibugay LGOO II Grizzelle Elardo. Representatives from other National Government Agencies, Rural Health Units of different municipalities in Region IX, and Provincial LGUs were also present during the event.
