The DILG Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Local Governance Resource Center, in partnership with Zamboanga Sibugay Cluster, successfully conducted the 3RD KX Engagement entitled “Strengthening Community Defense: An Orientation on Mpox for LGUs” via Zoom and Facebook Live, drawing an overwhelming response with 1,426 views and 2,126 total reach.
Dr. Ulysses D. Silorio, OIC Provincial Health Officer, served as the resource speaker and highlighted some of the causes, symptoms, and imparted practical ways for communities to intensify prevention measures to minimize transmission. He also urged the public to avoid panic, noting that Mpox at the moment is not considered similar to a pandemic. Barangay Officials were also informed of their crucial role in community education and response.
This activity was aimed to combat misinformation in the community and to promote awareness through accurate knowledge, empowering LGUs and residents to stay vigilant and informed.
