Pagadian City – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX conducted the “Advanced Digital Literacy and eGov PH Orientation Workshop” on June 4–5, 2025, at the DILG IX Conference Room in Pagadian City. The two-day activity aimed to strengthen the digital capabilities of DILG personnel by introducing advanced tools in digital design, productivity platforms, and e-governance systems.
Representing DILG Zamboanga Sibugay were Johnrey P. Cobar, Information Systems Analyst I / Multimedia Head, and Blessed Christian C. Metillo, Local Government Operations Officer II / Data Management Head. The event brought together personnel from various offices to explore practical applications of digital platforms in government workflows.






The workshop commenced with a message from Assistant Regional Director Carmelo Enrique B. Libot, who emphasized the importance of equipping government workers with evolving digital tools to better serve their constituents. On the first day, Juvy L. Ferry from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) led the session on Advanced Canva. Participants were taught how to maximize Canva’s features, including its AI tools, and were guided through creating basic websites using the platform.
The succeeding sessions focused on Advanced Google Workspace Orientation facilitated by ENGR. Mae Gamboa and ENGR. Angel Grace Lapad, both from DICT. The session highlighted advanced features of Google Sheets, including powerful formulas and new updates that can be used to streamline office tasks. This was followed by an orientation on eGov PH by Ludimar Galvez of DICT, who demonstrated the ease and efficiency of using the eGov PH app for accessing digital government services.






The training concluded with a closing message from Chief Administrative Officer Willibald PP Paglinawan. He emphasized that this would not be the last collaboration between DICT and DILG, noting that more digital training sessions are on the horizon. The orientation underscored DILG IX’s continued commitment to embracing digital transformation and ensuring that its personnel remain equipped for a future-ready public service.
